Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 10th July 2026
Welcome aboard Treasure Bounty.
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Treasure Bounty website, our publications and digital content, and any membership, product or service supplied by us.
Treasure Bounty is operated by Treasure Bounty & Co. Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
By using our website or purchasing a membership, product or service from us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
Our Secrets Kept (Privacy Notice) explains how we collect and use personal information and should be read alongside these terms.
Throughout these terms, “Treasure Bounty”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Treasure Bounty & Co. Ltd. “You” and “your” refer to the person using our website or purchasing from us.
1. Treasure Bounty
Treasure Bounty is a publication, membership platform and developing commercial enterprise inspired by maritime history, exploration, trade, heritage and discovery.
We may publish articles, Dispatches, correspondence, illustrations, maps, photography, video, research, commentary and other editorial or creative material.
We may also offer memberships, digital services, events, experiences, merchandise, physical goods and other products and services.
The nature and scope of Treasure Bounty may develop over time.
Additional terms may apply to particular products, events, competitions, memberships or services. Where they do, those terms will be made available before you purchase or participate.
2. Using Treasure Bounty
You may use Treasure Bounty for lawful personal and non-commercial purposes.
You must not:
- use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, accounts, servers or systems;
- knowingly introduce viruses, malicious code or other harmful material;
- interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or data from Treasure Bounty without our written permission;
- impersonate another person or provide deliberately false information;
- use our content commercially without permission; or
- use Treasure Bounty in a way that infringes the rights of another person or organisation.
We may restrict or suspend access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached or where necessary to protect Treasure Bounty, our members or other users.
3. Membership
Treasure Bounty may offer paid memberships providing access to additional content, publications, Dispatches, archives, correspondence, benefits or other features described on the relevant membership page.
The particular benefits included with your membership will be those described when you subscribe.
Membership is personal to you unless we expressly state otherwise. You must not share paid members-only material, account credentials or restricted content with others.
We may develop, replace or change individual membership features from time to time. Where a material change significantly affects a paid membership, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.
4. Membership Payments and Renewal
The price and billing period applicable to a membership will be displayed before you subscribe.
Where a membership is offered on a recurring basis, payment will be taken at the interval stated when you subscribe until the membership is cancelled.
By purchasing a recurring membership, you authorise our payment provider to collect the applicable recurring payment using your selected payment method.
If we change the price of an existing recurring membership, we will provide appropriate notice before the new price takes effect where required.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe. We do not ordinarily receive or store your complete debit or credit card details.
5. Cancelling a Membership
You may cancel a recurring Treasure Bounty membership in accordance with the cancellation method provided through your account, membership area or other instructions supplied by us.
Cancellation prevents subsequent renewal payments but does not necessarily entitle you to a refund for a membership period that has already begun, except where required by law or expressly provided by us.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
6. Consumer Cancellation Rights
If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you may have a statutory right to cancel certain contracts entered into online.
For many online contracts, this includes a 14-day cancellation period beginning in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Different rules can apply to digital content and services, particularly where you expressly request or agree that supply should begin during the cancellation period.
Where applicable, information concerning your cancellation rights, and any consent required before immediate access to digital content or services is provided, will be presented as part of the purchasing or membership process.
Nothing in these terms limits any cancellation, refund or other rights that you are entitled to under applicable consumer law.
7. Accounts and Security
Certain areas of Treasure Bounty may require an account.
You are responsible for providing accurate information and for keeping your account credentials secure.
You should notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
We may suspend or terminate an account where we reasonably believe it is being used fraudulently, unlawfully, in material breach of these terms or in a manner that threatens the security or operation of Treasure Bounty.
8. Editorial Content
Treasure Bounty contains editorial, historical and creative material.
Although we endeavour to produce material carefully, information published by Treasure Bounty is provided for general information and entertainment purposes unless expressly stated otherwise.
Historical interpretation may involve conflicting sources, incomplete records, opinion, reconstruction or reasonable editorial judgement.
Content should not be treated as professional financial, investment, legal, medical or other specialist advice.
You should obtain appropriate professional advice before making decisions requiring specialist knowledge.
9. Fiction, Storytelling and Historical Interpretation
Treasure Bounty may combine historical subject matter with storytelling, fictional characters, narrative devices, imagined correspondence, artistic interpretation or reconstructed scenes.
Where such techniques are used, they form part of the creative and editorial character of Treasure Bounty and should not necessarily be interpreted as literal historical records.
References to historical persons, events, ships, places, organisations or objects may be presented within this wider editorial and creative context.
10. Recommendations and Third Parties
Treasure Bounty may feature, discuss, recommend or link to third-party businesses, destinations, organisations, products, services, properties or experiences.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, inclusion within Treasure Bounty does not mean that we operate, control or own that third party.
If you purchase something directly from a third party, your contract will ordinarily be with that third party and their own terms and privacy policies may apply.
We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, products, services or websites of independent third parties, except to the extent that responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
From time to time, Treasure Bounty may receive payment, commission, sponsorship or another commercial benefit in connection with particular content or recommendations. Where disclosure is required, we will identify the relevant commercial relationship appropriately.
11. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the content and intellectual property associated with Treasure Bounty is owned by, or licensed to, Treasure Bounty & Co. Ltd.
This may include:

- other original material.
Copyright and other intellectual property rights are protected under applicable law.
You may view and, where technically permitted, download or print reasonable extracts for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You must not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, commercially exploit, substantially copy, modify or create derivative commercial works from our protected material without our prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
12. Trade Marks
Treasure Bounty and other names, marks, logos or branding appearing through our business may be registered or unregistered trade marks belonging to Treasure Bounty & Co. Ltd or their respective owners.
Nothing in these terms grants you permission to use our trade marks, branding or other intellectual property for commercial purposes.
Third-party trade marks remain the property of their respective owners.
13. User Communications and Submissions
If you send correspondence, suggestions, feedback or other material to Treasure Bounty, you remain responsible for anything you submit.
You must not knowingly submit material that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, infringing, malicious or otherwise violates the rights of another person.
Unless separately agreed, sending material to us does not oblige Treasure Bounty to publish, use or respond to it.
14. Availability of the Website
We aim to keep Treasure Bounty available and operating properly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may temporarily suspend, restrict or change parts of the website for maintenance, security, technical, operational or business reasons.
We are not responsible for interruptions outside our reasonable control, subject always to your statutory rights.
15. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
In particular, nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when the relevant contract was formed.
Treasure Bounty is provided for personal and non-commercial use. If you use our website, content or consumer membership for commercial or business purposes, we will not be responsible for business losses such as loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or anticipated savings, to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
16. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect our website, systems and users.
However, no website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security on your own devices, accounts and passwords.
Information about how we protect personal information can be found in Secrets Kept (Privacy Notice).
17. Ending or Suspending Services
We may suspend or terminate access to an account or membership where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including fraud, misuse, non-payment, serious or repeated breach of these terms, unlawful activity or threats to the security of Treasure Bounty.
Where appropriate, we will act reasonably and take account of your consumer rights and any services for which you have already paid.
You may end your membership in accordance with the cancellation provisions above.
18. Future Products and Services
Treasure Bounty may expand to offer additional goods, publications, events, experiences, hospitality, merchandise or other services.
Those activities may be governed by additional or separate terms appropriate to the particular transaction.
Where additional terms apply, they will be made available at the relevant point of purchase, booking or participation.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to Treasure Bounty, our services, technology, commercial arrangements or applicable law.
The latest version will be published on this page.
Where a change materially affects an existing paid membership or contractual relationship, we will provide notice where required and will not remove rights you already have under applicable consumer law.
20. Privacy
Our Secrets Kept (Privacy Notice) explains how Treasure Bounty collects, uses and protects personal information.
Please read it alongside these Terms and Conditions.
